MADEMOISELLE COCO CHANEL

Hi friends,

A big welcome to all my new followers. I promise you an impacting, entertaining and educating experience at D’art monde. Today, I am going to be talking about a woman who has created a lasting fashion brand.

Gabrielle Bonheur called Coco Chanel lost her mother to tuberculosis at the age of six and her father abandoned five of them to the care of relatives. Gabrielle ended up in a convent for orphans, Aubazine. Gabriella at the age of eighteen was too old to remain in Aubazine, so she had to leave. During her six years in Aubazine, she had learnt to sew, which will later lead to her greatness. She was able to find a job as a seamstress.
The name Coco was adopted during a brief career as a cafĂ© and concert singer. Coco was one of the names of the songs she sang. She started her fashion career by making hats and it bloomed once theatre actress Gabrielle Dorziat modeled her hat in a play titled Bel Ami. She eventually expanded into couture, making jerseys the first in the French fashion world. By the 20’s her fashion house had expanded considerably.
In the later years, she introduced a perfume, Chanel no.5 which remains popular till date. Coco Chanel later introduced a signature label “little Black dress” which cut the eyes and pockets of women. Her fashion has a staying power.

A compassionate part of her was later discovered when she served as a nurse in the world war l l leaving the fashion business to suffer for some years.
Her comeback lunched her to top ranks of haute couture. She was still working in 1971, when she died.

Some of Coco Chanel’s quotes….

• Success is often achieved by those who don’t know that failure is inevitable

• The most courageous act is still to think for yourself, Aloud

• Those who create are rare, those who cannot are numerous, the latter one is stronger

• Luxury must be comfortable, otherwise it is not luxury

• In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different

• I don’t know why women want any of the things men have when one thing that women have is men

• I invented my life by taking for granted that everything I did not like would have an opposite, which I would like.
She is a woman who kept inventing herself to deliver her dream with excellence . What is that one talent or gift you have? Start something with it, who knows how far it will take you.

Much love

WEIGHT LOST

Hi friends,

How has your week been? I guess it’s been really hmm.....not saying much. The removal of subsidy is having a major effect on our economy, even when it’s been said that the long term goal will be beneficial.

Today, I want to talk about the benefits of GARDEN EGG in a weight loss plan. I started a weight loss programme about a year ago; before then, I was a size 14 and eventually dropped to size 12 at the end of year 2011. Part of my goals for 2012 is to get to size 10. Now, the question is how do I plan to achieve this goal? I have started a research on how best to lose weight, and one of my discoveries is that late dinner contributes to most of the fat we have to deal with. I discovered the latest time to have dinner is 6pm.Considering our kind of society, If I close work at 6pm,manage between hold up and the likes, the best time I can get home is probably between 7:30pm and 9pm. How do I then have dinner before 6pm?

This is my suggestion, which I am presently walking with; eat a major meal within the
Day, any meal of your desire or craving, then have vegetables without dressing or fruits for
Dinner. I even discovered that I wake up refreshed after having vegetables or fruits for dinner
Compared to when I have heavy meals after 6pm.The body metabolism is slow at night so
energy isn’t burnt. This makes the food that one has taken in to burn extremely slow because
energy isn’t being utilized.
This led to my study of various fruits and vegetables, and my focus for now is GARDEN
EGGS. Below are a few facts about it;
• Garden egg is gotten from an African plant called solanum aethropicum.
• It contains huge amount of protein and other nutrients.
• It is low in sodium.
• It is low in calories.
• It is very rich in high dietary fibre.
• It is high in potassium, the salt needed for the effective functioning of the heart.
• It helps in curing diabetes.
The best part is that the use of garden egg is a perfect recipe for achieving weight loss within a short period of time. Let us substitute garden egg for that bar of chocolate or pack of biscuits and enjoy its benefits.
I will be bringing you more on weight loss as the week goes by.

Much love.

Co-workers

It's been a while! You are already wondering why the co-workers title rite! Alot has been happening in this first quarter of the year and you all remember we started the year with positivity and it already looks like the deals are slow in getting sealed.

Guess what? the deals are slow because we are looking for answers outside instead of searching inward to discover what talents and gifts God has given each and every one of us. If we must attain the level of prosperity we all are dreaming of,we must step out in the little ideas we have even if it means taking babysteps.

I have started my own soul searching and discovered God has endowned me with various talents but I'm starting with the one readily available to me.Chimamanda never won a nobel award because she thought of writing a book but won because she WROTE a book.

There is this epidemic gradually eating into our generation:someone says i have this great idea but need capital, another says i have this idea but will start in three months e.t.c Dont let anything stop you today, not money ,not time just start taking those baby steps and you will be shocked where these baby steps will lead you.

p.s:we are co-workers because we have a world and a nation to build with our little baby steps.

Stepping into your full potentials

Hello friends,
Happy new year! A beginning of new things to come our way.Yesterday i went window shopping with two of my friends and we walked into this beautiful shop, they had lots of things amongst cosmetics, clothes, jewelries e.t.c and Abigail my fiends saw this set of perfumes and said to me" Rali, would you like to own this set and use them when ever you felt like ?" you wont believe my reaction.I said "why? That's too much" what do you think was going on in my mind?
I have become comfortable with lack,no desire for abundance, mediocrity has creep ed into me without informing me.Watch out!

We went into a second shop, this very one was a book shop and i saw new books by Nigeria authors,i also came across Eugenia Abu's why are you looking at me like that oh goo sh i said to myself "where is your writing dream?" i have let mediocrity and myself steal it away and is already 2010.....

Last night, just last night,i decided to maximize all my talents and step into my full potentials,i know nothing is stopping me expect myself.
Do have a wonderful year ahead and please send in comments on your recent developments but don't stop your self.
much love

Hello Friends,
Christmas is at the corner and the trees have lighted our environment as well as our hearts with Joy. The other day a dear friend of mine asked me how she can get herself a Christmas dress and for a second it occurred to me that mummies always did the Christmas shopping for us. Guess what? Now, we are all grown up and have to do the shopping for ourselves.
Here are some tips on what to watch out for when shopping for Christmas
Dresses:
• A unique dress that flatters your shape
• watch out for colours in red, gold, and green for the season
• And you don’t have to rob a bank
Accessories
• If you go with the red dress u may want to highlight in silver sandals and a clutch
• The gold dress is well flattered with a touch of army green shoes and a stud earring
• Green is loud in itself, but let’s celebrate the season with silver on green
Looks
• Can I hear somebody say curly reflects excitement? Yeah friends! Let’s go curly for Christmas.
• Braids won’t be a bad idea but, be ready to spend hours in the saloons because of the rush.

• Make up must be flawless. I have already gotten a gold eye shadow for the season
• Try gold as base and do the shadow thing with any loud colour that compliments your outfit.
I believe I have been able to settle some of our concerns for the season. Have a lovely Christmas and don’t forget the reason for the season.
