Hi friends,
A big welcome to all my new followers. I promise you an impacting, entertaining and educating experience at D’art monde. Today, I am going to be talking about a woman who has created a lasting fashion brand.
Gabrielle Bonheur called Coco Chanel lost her mother to tuberculosis at the age of six and her father abandoned five of them to the care of relatives. Gabrielle ended up in a convent for orphans, Aubazine. Gabriella at the age of eighteen was too old to remain in Aubazine, so she had to leave. During her six years in Aubazine, she had learnt to sew, which will later lead to her greatness. She was able to find a job as a seamstress.
The name Coco was adopted during a brief career as a cafĂ© and concert singer. Coco was one of the names of the songs she sang. She started her fashion career by making hats and it bloomed once theatre actress Gabrielle Dorziat modeled her hat in a play titled Bel Ami. She eventually expanded into couture, making jerseys the first in the French fashion world. By the 20’s her fashion house had expanded considerably.
In the later years, she introduced a perfume, Chanel no.5 which remains popular till date. Coco Chanel later introduced a signature label “little Black dress” which cut the eyes and pockets of women. Her fashion has a staying power.

A compassionate part of her was later discovered when she served as a nurse in the world war l l leaving the fashion business to suffer for some years.
Her comeback lunched her to top ranks of haute couture. She was still working in 1971, when she died.
Some of Coco Chanel’s quotes….
• Success is often achieved by those who don’t know that failure is inevitable
• The most courageous act is still to think for yourself, Aloud
• Those who create are rare, those who cannot are numerous, the latter one is stronger
• Luxury must be comfortable, otherwise it is not luxury
• In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different
• I don’t know why women want any of the things men have when one thing that women have is men
• I invented my life by taking for granted that everything I did not like would have an opposite, which I would like.
She is a woman who kept inventing herself to deliver her dream with excellence . What is that one talent or gift you have? Start something with it, who knows how far it will take you.
Much love
